Here at MOOD Events, we love events that serve a greater cause.  A dear friend of ours  is once again putting on The Masquerade Charity Ball (currently in its 4th year), and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of it this year.  As a participating sponsor of this year’s ball, we would like to officially extend an invitation to all of our friends, colleagues and fans who are looking to support a great cause, and have a blast doing so.This year, the ball will benefit Primary Children’s Hospital and will take place on Wednesday, October 30th from 8:00 pm to midnight at the Grand Hall at the Gateway Mall.  This is a formal event.  A professional DJ will provide the soundtrack for the evening and two photographers will capture all of the highlights of the night, as well as your favorite moments.

Pre-sale tickets are $15 and can be purchased online HERE, and tickets at the door are $15 before 9:00 pm and $20 after that (cash and debit/credit cards will be accepted at the door).  All photos from the event will be made available to attendees and are included in the ticket price.

This will be the biggest Masquerade Charity Ball yet!  The venue is four times the size of previous years so even more people can enjoy the event and raise more money for Primary Children’s Hospital.  The venue is phenomenal and the dance will be even better!  This being the case, please help us spread the word!

Here is how you can help:

  1. If you haven’t already, join the event on Facebook HERE.
  2. Once you have done that, invite all of your friends.
  3. Share the event on your Facebook page.  Share it on other pages to which you belong.
  4. Join our Instagram feed @themasqueradeball and repost our photos and invites.
  5. Word of mouth.
  6. Keep up-to-date with event details and view photos of previous years on The Masquerade Ball‘s Facebook page HERE.

So put on your finest ball gown, cocktail dress, suit or tuxedo, and help us ring in this Halloween in style while we support a great cause!

Aloha!  We’re back from the sandy shores of Hawaii and wishing we were still digging our toes in the sand.  So to ease the pain, jump back on the healthy bandwagon, and remind us a bit of the tropics, we’re sharing with you one of our favorite go-to summer salad recipes we just can’t get enough of.

Summery, beachy, refreshing and bright – this summer salad can easily be incorporated into any summer wedding buffet, and is even hearty enough to be served as an entrée for a luncheon.  Talk to your caterer about how you can incorporate this fresh salad into your wedding meal.  Enjoy!

We wanted to keep the drinks simple and refreshing, with an Asian nod, and an herbaceous twist.  So what did we come up with?  A Watermelon & Thai Basil Soda and a Ginger Lemon & Thyme Cooler.  Not only did they look good, but they tasted amazing – especially on a hot, summer afternoon.

Sometimes aloha can mean hello, and sometimes it can mean goodbye. Unfortunately this time, it means goodbye.

Our longtime friend and photographer, Ev Wunder of Eveline Wunder Photography (formerly Little Wunders Photography) is moving to Maui with her little family. Since launching our event planning company here in Utah two years ago, Ev has consistently captured our event design work beautifully. As a result of her skillful work, we were fortunate to be featured on national blogs and local magazine publications from the get go.

If any of you are lucky enough to be living on Maui, count yourself as doubly lucky. Because now you have an amazing photographer in your midst. (If you are interested in setting up a session with Ev, please contact her through her website here.)

Ev, we will miss you dearly. We wish you and your family all the best in Maui! ~Aloha!

You’ve probably seen our recent posts on our blog and Facebook about Carly and Matthew’s beautiful Park City destination wedding. Today, we wanted to share with you a little bit of what Carly had to say about working with yours truly. Carly and Matt live all the way in Texas, so we were their eyes and ears here in Utah. We love what we do, and a simple love note like Carly’s just makes everything so much sweeter! Thank you, Carly!

“I want to express our gratitude for the wonderful work Mood Events did for our wedding this past weekend. Mood took care of coordinating our ceremony and cocktail reception, and handled everything beautifully. We were planning the wedding from out-of-state, so the extra work Garret and his team did in advance of our wedding put my mind at ease and helped me visualize the space. Mood Events handled pulling together all the details- coordinating vendors and rentals, and handling everything day-of. The florals and decor that Mood created were beautiful and they went above and beyond expectations by adding extra little touches everywhere. Mood was well-prepared on the day of the event with lots of backup flowers, and Garrett and his team subtly coordinated the events, making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. I got so many compliments on the beautiful setup, gorgeous flowers, and general wonderful ambiance of the space. Mood literally took a blank canvas and created a meaningful ceremony space for our wedding. I couldn’t have been happier with the professional, efficient, and thoughtful service Mood provided, and I know they were one of the big reasons our wedding was was so perfect!” – Carly, Bride

NOTE: Alright. It’s been quite a while since the last blog post. And saying we’re going to post a blog post every week from the start of the new year is like making a resolution to start a diet, get a gym pass and lose weight. So we’re never making that promise again – we’ve learned our lesson – but we hope you enjoy this blog post since it’s been such a long hiatus and a new post is LONG overdue.

Today we have a simple and elegant destination wedding to share with you photographed by the lovely and talented Alixann Loosle of Alixann Loosle Photography.

Carly and Matt are avid skiers and frequent visitors to Park City’s mountain slopes. Wanting to celebrate their marriage with family and friends in a place they loved so dearly, they decided to marry in Park City, at the Kimball Art Center. They wanted the focus of their wedding day to not only be about their tying the knot, but also celebrating the love of their family and friends. They opted to hold a casual hors d’oeuvres and cocktail reception (deliciously catered by Culinary Crafts) prior to the wedding ceremony, followed by a dinner at Talisker Restaurant on Main Street.

Working with Carly and Matt was a wedding planner’s dream. They were prepared and knew exactly the look and style they wanted for their wedding, yet they still gave us full creative control to see their vision for their wedding day come through. We filled the venue with light and airy details – cream linens and soft white and dusty gray florals, white anemones and pillar candles to line the aisle, votive candles and white blooms hung above the ceremony space, and two floral centerpieces placed atop gallery pedestals and a soft white linen backdrop to anchor the front of the ceremony space. All the details were elegant, sophisticated, understated and true to the Park City aesthetic, as well as both Carly and Matt’s personal style and elegance.

Enjoy! and congratulations again, Carly & Matthew!

It’s Valentine’s Day all over the world!! If you didn’t know, Alfreda is currently in Taiwan and decided to send some love our way. Here’s a little something different from overseas.

The Taiwanese have been gearing up for Valentine’s for weeks now. The local 7-11’s are stocked with all sorts of chocolate goodies and all the flower shops are teaming with pink and red flowers. Turns out this day is celebrated pretty much the same here as it is in America. There was one thing though that kept catching my attention as I’ve ridden around town…

Now bouquets of flowers are expected, but bouquets of stuffed animals?? Yes, please!! My inner asian/10 yr old loves this! Maybe a new trend for the states? The florist said roses are still the predominant flower of choice for the day, but stuffed animal bouquets are pretty common all year round and in greater abundance this time of year. I love it and am secretly wishing some last minute admirer will be as cheesy as I am and deliver before the day is over. A girl can hope right?

Happy Valentine’s Day, where ever you are in this world! Past, present, or future, today is all about love, and love is something definitely worth celebrating.

XOXO,
Alfreda
